I often hear people quoting the bible in an effort to support some position or another. There is so much in the good book, ya know? But sometimes I really just want to look at what Jesus said -his words.
Like this one: Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of Heaven.
This gives me strength to fight for moral truth in the face of those that persecute me for doing so. Often it is when what they are doing is clearly wrong and harming others. They persecute their brother instead of owning their actions and correcting them. They lash out. Often with, "He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone". Mind you I am not casting judgment. When I am attempting to help my brothers and sisters see when they are doing wrong it is not the same as judging. I pray that my brothers and sisters have the strength to tell me when they see me stray!
I am not judging them for doing the immoral. I am simply saying, "Please stop that, it is immoral, wrong an harmful to both you and others."
Righteousness is a good thing. It is a strong base for good!
Do not fear being righteous! Yours is the Kingdom of Heaven!
